My name is Spirit Hearts Song, but this wasn't always the case...
For much of my life, I went by my given name, Maegan Cadet, but I never felt like the name fit me.
On the eve of my 25th birthday, in a lakeside hostel just outside of Amsterdam, I knew I had to make a shift in my life--for years, I'd felt stagnant and I was ready for my life to transform. That was the night I changed my name.
From then on, I've been walking a path of conscious uncovering, working with my spirit guides to shed all that is out of alignment with who I truly am.
So who am I, really?
I'm Spirit Hearts Song: an ever-hopeful romantic with a love of typing on my typewriters, dancing spontaneously, writing songs on my piano, experimenting in the kitchen, and dreaming of the day when I am reunited with the housekeeper I am certain is part of my destiny!
I used to dream of "making it" on social media
After earning my MFA in Musical Theatre Writing from NYU in 2018, I left the city feeling anything but proud of my accomplishment. Having signed on to write two theses, the task proved to be a taxing experience that left me feeling as though I was a failure of an artist by the program's end.
Ouch.
So I left New York City a few days after graduation with a backpack, pen, a notebook, and a dream.

Chasing Spirit
This period ran from 2018 to 2024, the end of my Saturn return.
(this about me page is still being written!!!)

In November of 2025, I recorded my first ever Indigenous People's Day Special, spending a day in communion with the ancestors. This day shifted me fundamentally, and I haven't been able to turn back since.
The biggest change?
Quitting social media cold turkey and daring to build my own home on the internet.
