A Delicious Day in the Life

This video is a continuation of our Prep for Portugal series, following me in September of 2025 as I prepare to go on the shamanic journey of a lifetime. As a reminder, it was on this trip I brought our stolen ancestors from New York's Atlantic shores to a journey that ended in Northern Africa.

The first video in the series:

Interestingly enough, I was just reading up on slavery in the Ancient Roman empire. Did you know: the slave trade was an intrinsic aspect of Roman society? In contrast to the trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, people of all races were enslaved in Roman times, including Romans themselves.

Consuming this information was startling, for it speaks to an even longer history of oppression in our world, particularly brought to us through Western imperialism.

The plight of the enslaved is unthinkable. To be seen as property and to have one's humanity denied is unthinkable cruelty to me.

And yet, I sit here thinking of it.

Ten days from today, I'll be embarking on a journey to New York City to conduct research in both The National Museum of the American Indian and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

I'm not sure what I'll find; I'm not even sure what I'm looking for.

But when it comes to me and the divine: being open yields the most delicious and nutritious results.

So. While the words above are of a heavier emotional weight, I'd like to introduce you to a lighter feast in the form of a chatty little FaceTime vlog.

I had no idea at the time of recording this how much my life would change from taking that trip. I feel similarly about this time we're in now.

Years from now, I feel I'll look back and see just how monumental this time was and is for me.

I'm so happy I have a place to document and share my notes from the road.

XO,

Spirit
