What I'm Looking At

aka: my most recent downloads from Pinterest
I've got motherhood and magic on my mind this morning, all of which is tied to Ancient Times.

I'm also working on The Divine Feminine Mystique today!
The impetus for picking up the sacred torch for this publication comes from my recent experience "putting myself out there" in the world via craft markets.
Chapter Members will be hearing aaaaaallll about my Rhinebeck market disaster, which is ultimately a blessing in disguise.
The way I was going was not the highest path for me. While the road is not yet 100% clear (will it ever be?), I'm working now on tuning into my divine guidance and proceeding only once I've received a sacred yes.

Right now, my sacred yes is centered on two things:
1) Making a "New York Classic," my take on an NYC egg bagel. It has just two ingredients, three if you include salt: cassava and eggs. I make my signature cassava tortilla on my large cast iron skillet, whip up a greasy "egg fluff" (essentially an unflipped omlette) and voila! A New York Classic. The skillet is just about warmed up now.
2) Writing.
"Why don't you focus on your writing?" my mom offered when I returned, a day early and by complete surprise, from what was supposed to be a two-day market.
We both agreed that there is a time for HD, most likely when my other offerings bring me the clout and community of my literal and figurative dreams.

I pinned this a few days ago and think it's very apt and important. It pretty much sums up why The Divine Feminine Mystique is necessary.
So many women--too many women--are the bottom-tier kind of wife. Overworked, uncared for, and thinking that's the way their lives ought to be. These kind of women witnessed their mothers being this kind of wife, and without a template for something different, they defaulted to what they knew.
This bottom-tier wife is most prevalent among women of color in general (with the exception of Latin American women with more machismo husbands), and working class white women.
The problem is the masculinization of women and the solution lies with the resurrection of the divine feminine in each of us.
Yet...so many women are resistant to the divine feminine.
I'll always remember my first encounter with the divine feminine. It happened in college.
I was in the bookstore when a young Latina-presenting woman approached me and asked if she could ask me a question (or really another one ;)). I thought she'd want directions but she proceeded to question, "Have you heard about the mother?"
She said there was going to be a meeting about the sacred mother and she invited me.
I politely declined and high-tailed it out of the bookstore, honestly freaked out.
On my walk with ZaZa this morning I was chuckling to myself as I remembered the first Christmas my eldest sis, Yas, bought us all crystals. I was a non-believer for sure.
Me! A non-believer!
We can all wake up
Because I remember a time when I was fully asleep, I hold hope that a great majority of people can awaken in this lifetime.
I write The Divine Feminine Mystique for those who have awakened and for those yet to come.
Wish me luck!

Spirit
