Now, before I share what I've been up to, I wanna give you a glimpse into the Yule gift I'm looking forward to receiving most:

This is from the Cherokee Nation Yule shopping spree I treated myself to with the holiday money I received from my former benefactor and (still present) father. In great thanks to him, I've purchased these 100% abalone shell earrings, handmade by Cherokee hands!!!

Now, you who witnessed the first annual Indigenous People's Day Special might recall that word, "abalone." I myself first encountered the word while working on the special; I was translating the caption of the photograph below and looked up abalone's definition, as I wasn't sure what it was/what it meant.

This is a photo of our ancestor from the Apsaroke/Crow tribe -- a war chief named Medicine Crow *heart eyes* -- I am a total fan girl.

His big, round "ornaments" are made from abalone!!!!!!!!!!

Oh sisters, what a sacred gift these earrings are indeed. I feel that I'm owning both a piece of history and destiny at the same time--the past, future, and present all aligned with two round disks of abalone.

A sacred gift, indeed!!!!

And what a sacred gift it is to be sharing this new chapter with you.
